Road Rank records the drives you start, scores them, and (if you choose) ranks you against other drivers. This page explains what data the app handles, where it goes and how you can remove it. Questions: hafizzabdullah999@gmail.com.
Trips (GPS points with speed and time, distance, score, events such as hard braking), vehicles you add, notes and settings are stored on your device. Uninstalling the app or choosing Delete data in Settings removes them.
Road Rank uses your precise location only while a drive you started is recording. During that drive the app runs an Android foreground service, so recording continues if you switch apps or the screen turns off, and Android shows a notification the whole time. Recording stops when you pause or end the drive. The app does not request "all the time" background location and never collects location when no drive is running.
The app also reads motion data from your phone during a recorded drive to detect hard braking, quick acceleration and sharp turns. This data is used to calculate your score and is stored with the trip on your device.
Signing in is optional. If you sign in, we store your email address to run your account. We email you a one-time sign-in code. There are no passwords.
If you join the leaderboard you choose a display name, country and city. Anyone using the app can see that name, your city and country, your score, total distance and number of drives over the last 30 days. Do not use your real name or email as your display name if you want to stay anonymous. You can edit or leave the leaderboard at any time, which removes that public profile. If you join a club, members of that club see your club display name, average score and drive count.
To rank you fairly, the app sends a finished drive (its GPS points) to our server. The server recalculates the score and keeps only the date, distance, duration, score and a one-way hash of the route used to detect duplicates. The GPS points are not stored after this check.
If you use Pro cloud backup, your trips (including exact routes), vehicles and settings are uploaded and stored under your account so you can restore them on a new phone. Only you can read your backup.
When you ask for a coaching tip or progress review, the app sends only numbers about your drives (distance, duration, speeds, counts of events and score) to an AI model provided through Amazon Web Services. It does not receive your name, email, locations or routes. Replies are generated for you and are not stored with your account.
Pro subscriptions are handled by Google Play. We receive a purchase token to confirm your subscription is active. We never see your card or payment details.
We do not sell personal data or share it with advertisers.
Account, leaderboard and backup data is kept until you delete it or delete your account. The date, distance, duration and score of drives you submitted for ranking stay private to your account and are kept until you delete your account. Deleting your account removes all of it.
Data is encrypted in transit. Sign-in sessions on your phone are kept in secure storage. No system is perfectly secure, so please protect your phone with a lock.
Road Rank is meant for people old enough to drive. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Scores are estimates from phone GPS, not a safety or insurance rating. Never use the app while driving.
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
