Better driving, made visible

Road Rank is an Android app that turns every drive into a score you can improve and a rank you can share.

Why we built it

Most drivers have never seen how they actually drive. A simple 0 to 100 score, a clear breakdown and a friendly leaderboard make smoother driving something you can measure, and enjoy.

How scoring works

Your phone GPS and motion sensors show how speed and direction change during a drive. Each drive starts at 100. Every hard-braking event costs 4 points and every quick acceleration costs 3, and a drive needs at least 300 m to be scored. Sharp turns are counted and shown in the breakdown too. You always see what cost you points, so you know what to work on.

Scores are estimates. Road conditions, traffic and how your phone is mounted all affect readings.

How ranking works

Rank is your average score over the last 30 days, weighted by distance. You need at least 3 drives and 30 km to qualify. The app sends route points to our server so each drive can be checked, then keeps only the date, distance, duration and score.

Your privacy

Only drives you start are recorded. You join the leaderboard with a display name and a city. Your email and exact routes are never shown to others, and you can export or delete your data in the app.
