Why Road Rank
You cannot improve what you never see
Most of us think we are good drivers, yet few of us have ever seen how we brake, accelerate and take corners. Road Rank turns every trip into numbers you can understand, then adds a leaderboard to make getting better fun.

Score
A driving score you can actually understand
One tap starts a drive. Road Rank tracks speed, distance and time, then scores how smoothly you drove from 0 to 100. Hard braking and quick acceleration cost points, and the breakdown shows exactly where.
- Live speed, distance, moving time and stops
- Hard braking, quick acceleration and sharp turn counts
- Top speed, average speed and longest non-stop stretch
- Weekly and monthly trends to see yourself improve

Trips
Every trip, saved and broken down

- Export to CSV, GPX and PDF with Pro

FAQ
Questions, answered
Where can I download Road Rank?
Road Rank is free on Google Play for Android phones. Search for Road Rank: Driving Tracker, or use the Get it on Google Play button on this site. An iPhone version is not available yet.
Do I need a car gadget or an account?
No gadget. Road Rank uses your phone GPS and motion. You can record drives without signing up. A display name and city are only needed if you join the leaderboard.
How is the driving score calculated?
Each drive starts at 100. You lose 4 points for every hard-braking event and 3 for every quick acceleration. A drive needs at least 300 m to get a score. The in-app breakdown shows exactly what cost you points.
How does the leaderboard work?
Your rank is your average score over the last 30 days, weighted by distance. You need at least 3 drives and 30 km in that window. Every drive is checked on the server.
Can other people see my routes or email?
No. The leaderboard shows a display name, score, distance and the location you choose. Your email and exact routes are never shown to others.
Does it drain my battery or run in the background?
While a drive is recording, Android shows a notification so recording continues when you switch apps or the screen turns off. Recording only happens for drives you start, and location is not collected when no drive is running.
