How the Road Rank leaderboard works: ranking, fairness and privacy

How city, country and world ranks are calculated, what you need to qualify, and what other players can see about you.

Road Rank’s leaderboard is designed to reward smooth, consistent driving, not just one lucky trip. Here is exactly how it works.

How your rank is calculated

Your rank is your average score over the last 30 days, weighted by distance. Longer drives count for more than short ones, so a single short parking-lot trip cannot dominate.

What you need to qualify

You need at least 3 drives and 30 km in the last 30 days. This prevents tiny samples from topping the board.

Keeping it fair

Every drive you submit is checked on our server. The app sends the route points so the server can validate the drive. After checking, only the date, distance, duration and score are kept. This stops obvious cheating, such as editing a score on the phone.

What other people can see

They cannot see your email or your exact routes.

Joining is optional

You can record and review drives without ever joining. When you choose to join, you only need a display name and your city. You can leave the leaderboard at any time.

Tips for climbing

  1. Aim for consistency. Your 30-day average matters.
  2. Remove hard braking and quick acceleration, since they cost the most points.
  3. Drive more. Distance weighting means longer, smooth drives help.
  4. Compare with friends in a private club for friendly competition.

Remember

A high rank is a fun goal, never a reason to take risks. Drive for the conditions, and do not use the app while driving.
